On September 15th, I had the opportunity to attend the spring/summer 2016 presentation of Allison Mitchell's handbag collection. This collection was sophistication at its best! Making it a definite must have for every woman's closet! With animal skins sourced from around the world. This collection featured saddle bags and clutches made from calf hide and pirarucu skin. For those of you who may not be a fan of handbags made of real fur and skins. Allison made it known that all the animal skins she uses comes from sustainable animal farms.
When asked how she finds the animal skins to make her bags. Allison replied, "I look for skins of hides that are really off normal. You will never see me do any alligator, python, or crocodile because it has been done a lot and I like things that are shifted a little bit away from what's normal and on trend." She continues "So I spend a lot of time looking for stuff like this (the pirarucu skin,) things that people don't normally see. And when I find it, I know it! Then the skin tells me what to do to make the bag!"
These gorgeous handbags are the perfect statement piece to complete any look! To explore more of Allison Mitchell's handbags visit www.allisonmitchell.com
