What a Snow Day!

What a Snow Day!

Welcome back to your regular work week! Don't mind the snow day we had yesterday! Honestly speaking, I wish the blizzard was a tab bit worst in Brooklyn. I would of really enjoyed having a three day work week for a change. I say it to my co-workers all the time. Who invented the five day work week? Let's be for real! We can't spend all our time working and just two days playing. I guess Mother Nature was on our side (except for those who would of rather gone to work instead of staying home.)  What did I do on my snow day? Well... first things first, I dug out the cars. Thereafter, I decided to play!

My sister had called me early that morning to find out if I was taking Lyla out to play. I told her of course. Lyla loves the snow! We made our arrangements and about three hours later, we met up with each other.  I had made up my mind earlier that day, that I would conduct a photo shoot while Lyla  played with her little cousin Brooklyn. Many interesting things happened during this snow day shoot. I had to stop once to answer the my phone. Even though I was not paying attention to the camera. The photographer ( @RollandSPhotography) never stop shooting.

After the call, I got straight to work. Or should I say to playing. It was about 19 degrees outside but I was having a blast! (Anyone that knows me, knows that I can be really silly.) During my photo shoot, I heard a woman singing Jingle Bells. I was actually a little confused when I first heard it. I said to myself " Where is that coming from." But when I identified her location. I said "Man, she's in a really good mood. Christmas was a little over a month ago and she's still singing as if its still the Christmas season." So I decided to join in. I started singing along. I later discovered she had a cute little baby on a sled and was singing pulling her child, creating a memorable moment. Everyone was happy. Who wouldn't be?

It honestly was a good day. Brooklyn and Lyla was really enjoying the snow. They even decided to photo bomb a few of my shots.

Lyla just hopped up and joined me on the bench. I had so much fun enjoying the snow and spending time with family.  I hope you enjoy this look I put together!

I hope you enjoyed your snow day as much as I did! Thank you for reading! I'll speak to you soon!

Monique

I mixed textures such as knits, corduroy, faux fur, and a leopard print to create this warm, cozy and sophisticated outfit.

I love this outfit and I know you would like it too! It' great way to have fun during this cold weather! Thanks for reading and have a great day my loves!

Winter White and Gray!

Happy New Year! I am so excited that a new year is here! I accomplished so much than I expected. I created my blog A Brooklyn Brunette in August of 2014 and I have been continuously working to make it the best that I can. With that said, I wish you all a healthy and prosperous year for 2015 in all your endeavors!

Since the new year has started,  this winter has been fierce! The temperature has dropped significantly and we have been left to battle this frigid weather. However, we New Yorkers are known for expressing ourselves through our fashion sense and this winter weather will not prevent us from doing so!  Even though winter is not my favorite season, I love the idea of layering and wearing light colors that reminds me of the first snow fall for the winter. This outfit that I put together embodies an animal print, with a textured cardigan, the warmth of a cute snow boot and a pale pink bag to add some color.

This is a nice causal and comfortable look that any woman can wear for their weekend excursion. Thanks for reading!

Fall Fall Fallllll! Denim On Denim!

Happy Wednesday! I hope you're starting your day in a great way. It's the middle of the week! We only have two more days to go until the weekend! Yay!

This is a really easy look that anyone could create and wear. Denim on denim is a new look for me. When I was younger it wasn't really my style but now... I'm all for it! It's a really cute look when paired with the right coat and shoes for the fall season.

When I did this photo shoot last Sunday, the wind was blowing like crazy and it was really cold and I felt like I was going to die!   However, good fashion never fails and withstand the unforgiving weather!

Always remember to add a pop of color and I achieve this with my shoes! Hot pink an iconic color for women and girls!

Thank you for reading and supporting me! I will have the items description up later today! Have a happy Wednesday!

Xoxo,

Monique
