Calling All Curly Babes and Gents to CurlFest 2015!

If you are someone who is proud to have natural hair, then CurlFest was a event you wouldn't of wanted to miss! The Curly Girl Collective threw the ultimate summer celebration for the natural hair community this past Saturday, and I had the pleasure of being a part of it all.

I volunteered to be a part of this festival because I strongly believe that men, women, and children of all ages should love their hair and the natural beauty of it. This ultimate picnic party located in Brooklyn's Prospect Park brought together experts and the best hair care products companies for all naturalistas!

Shea Moisture offered products for all hair types. To make CurlFest attendees experience that much more exciting, they had a onsite braid bar for them to get their "Hair did!"

The Curls ladies were offering more than yummy candy treat at their tent. The offered a variety of hare care products to enhance any person's curly curls!

Another great feature at CurlFest that my sister and I loved, was the Kinky Curly's picnic swing photo op. It was a hit with everyone! Grab a prop or two, swing and say "Kinky Curly!"

Throughout the day, if you weren't visiting the vendor marketplace, you could stop by the CurlFest picnic chat area that featured various experts. These experts covered topics from protective Styles Do's and Don'ts to Work/Life Balancing.

CurlFest was an AMAZING experience! If you missed it this year, make sure you sign up to the Curly Girl Collective mailing list to be informed of their news and events. I had a lot of fun! If you attended, I know you did! CurlFest equals great vendors, activities, music and especially GREAT PEOPLE!

Thanks for reading! Make sure you're there next year!

Allure Magazine X Tiffany & Co. Celebrates the Return to Tiffany Collection!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending Allure Magazine and Tiffany & Co. viewing celebration to introduce the newest designs for The Return to Tiffany collection. Tiffany's guest were treated to hors d'oeuvres, a manicure by Butter London and of course the elegance of champagne. This collection is one of the most popular Tiffany designs because of it's recognizable tag stamped with the message "Please Return to Tiffany & Co. New York" printed on it. As a child, owning one of these jewelry pieces was a must have! It was on everyone's list and the "it" thing for girls in school. While reviewing the newest additions to this collection, I learned about its history and how it came into existence.

This design was first introduced in 1969, as a Tiffany & Co. keyring with the message "Please Return to Tiffany & Co. New York"engraved on it. When a customer purchased their keyring, they would receive a card with a registration number on it. If the customer were to lose their keyring and it was found and return to a Tiffany & Co. store, the store would contact the customer about the possession of their keyring. Overtime, this design evolved into a full jewelry collection.

The pieces of this collection is truly beautiful! They can worn as a single piece or as layered pieces to compliment your wardrobe. Visit any Tiffany & Co. stores or go online (The Return to Tiffany collection) to find that perfect gift for a loved one or to treat yourself to a well deserved gift!

I SAW MERMAIDS IN CONEY ISLAND YESTERDAY!

The rain did not stop me or other spectators from attending  New York City's 33rd annual Mermaid Parade in Coney Island.  Men, woman, and children came from near and far to watch and participate in the largest arts parade in the United States. With over 3,000 participant in this parade each year, there were many unique costume handmade by it's participants to see. While there, I met many enthusiastic mermaid, mermen, and other creatures who came out to share in this day. Check out my day at the 33rd annual Mermaid Parade!

This crew consisted of a land mermaid, lobster clawed man, a squid, and a man in red who was just out for a good time.

Mrs. Lobster happily struck poses for those who shared her love for being at the sea.

This young lady was a bold mermaid with shells to cover her jewels.

This couple, a fisher man and mermaid ran about showing everyone some love.

This mermaid is of a darker nature but yet had beautiful grace.

These ladies not mermaids were strolling around beach they love the beach.

This mother came out with her husband and child because she had to participate and looked very beautiful.

These four, three beautiful mermaid and a sexy shark were out at the bar for a day of unspeakable fun!

This parade was an amazing experience for me and I believe that everyone should experience it at least once.  It was so much fun that I'd like to participate in it next year. I hope you had a great weekend like I did. Thanks for reading !
