Atlantic City....A Place of Many Memories

As various New York Fashion Week events were being orchestrated in the Big Apple. My family and I traveled to Atlantic City to celebrate my sister's birthday (This being a substitution for Las Vegas) . Of course, I wanted to be in the mix of events happening in New York....but I knew what was a priority for me.  I said to myself "It's only one day of fashion week events that I would not be attending. So missing one day of events wouldn't kill me!"

When we got there, our first stop was a cute little Mexican restaurant. By the time we had finished eating...everything was closed! But I couldn't be mad. We had left NYC mid-afternoon and when we got to Atlantic City it was late. After dinner, we hit the casinos and took a lovely walk on the boardwalk.

For that night, I put together the cutest ombre look!

Thanks for reading!

Monique

Falling Into the Season

Summer is slowly being left behind, as we all start getting acquainted with Fall. For me, Fall is like that guy who keeps going out of his way to be seen and impress you...but ultimately you're not impressed. I am not a fan of Fall. But at the same time, I don't hate it.

Fall is a fabulous season for fashion. There are endless layering opportunities with jackets and accessories and as the weather changes and the fall season quickly approaches, I plan to embrace him with vibrant colors.

While the weather is still nice. I will continue to have outings with my boyfriend, pup Lyla, and my family. You have to hold on to every little bit of nice weather we have until it is truly gone!

I hope your enjoying the change in weather! Thanks for reading!

xoxo,

Monique

A Beautiful Off the Runway Fashion Show

Last Friday night, I had the opportunity to view the designer Soni Soho's New York Fashion Week Runway Show. Her collection could be described using three words "Elegant," "Sophisticated," and "Sexy."

As each outfit made its way down the run way, I immediately made associations of where I could wear it. I loved this jumpsuits. (And jumpsuits as a whole, despite the fact that I struggle with the pant length because I am so short.) I could see myself wearing this outfit to work or out for a special event if paired with the right show stopping accessories.

When I watched this outfit come down the runway, I was immediately drawn to the skirt. The matching pattern on the front and back of the skirt brought an element of creativity. It was definitely a piece that complimented my personality. I'm a lady who loves compliments and enjoy wearing pieces that makes people stop and say " Hey, that's really nice! I strongly believe this would be one of those pieces.

Out of the entire collection, this was my favorite outfit! I loved the construction of the dress. The exposed zipper gave the dress drama when viewed from the back. It was fun and tastefully sexy! I would wear this on a nice summer day to brunch with my girlfriends or a date with my boyfriend.

For woman who hate or prefer not to show legs, this longer option is for you!  I have to admit, there was a point in my life when I wouldn't wear dresses. I do not know why but I just didn't like the idea of it. When I had to wear a dress, it was very important that it covered my legs. So if you loved the dress I showed to you before, you're in luck because this is the maxi dress for you!

Overall, this was a wonderful collection.  I anticipate that it will be successful when it is available for purchase. The outfits within this collection are timeless, creative, and sexy. Soni Soho, a job well done!

If you haven't heard of Modabox....You should get to know them!

Every year, we celebrate special occasions that required us to look our best. Now, let me tell you about Modabox New York Fashion Week runway show. On September 3rd, 2014, with the South Street Seaport as their backdrop, Modabox had their first NYFW runway show showcasing their Fall 2014 Women's Collection and menswear from Frank DeBourge. The show started off with a musical performance by Lanz Pierce and a selection from the talented violinist, Filip Pogady.

As each model strutted down the runway, they rocked the outfit they wore! Transferring their high energy to the audience who cheered with great enthusiasm.

This parade of outfits demanded our attention. They screamed high fashion, sophistication,  and are easily identified as show stopping pieces.  Pieces, that many couldn't wait to get in their closets because they knew the meaning of being highly fashionable and feeling great while doing so.

As each look made its way up and down the runway, it was evident that Modabox was meticulous about the details that went into putting each look together.

There were looks displayed for every occasion you could possibly think of.

Overall, their first NYFW runway show was a success! Both, men and women collections were impressive. Modabox did a great job picking a memorable location, presenting an excellent Fall 2014 women's collection, and keeping their guests entertained with a photo booth to record their experience.
